Suno V6: the flagship music model with the most natural vocals

Suno V6 is the new generation of music generation from Suno, released in September 2026 and replacing the entire previous lineup from V4 to V5.5. The model sings noticeably more naturally, follows genre and mood descriptions more precisely, and builds arrangements with details that used to take dozens of regenerations. On Genosai, Suno V6 is the main music model: one run returns two track variants from 10 seconds to 6 minutes long and costs 16 credits.

What is Suno V6

Suno V6 is the flagship music generation model from Suno, released on September 9, 2026. It is the first generation Suno trained together with the music industry rather than against it: licensed catalogs from Warner Music Group, BMG and Believe took part in the work on the model. With the V6 release, Suno stopped generation on every previous version — from V4 to V5.5 — and moved the whole platform to the new generation.

What changed to the ear. Where V5 and V5.5 made vocals expressive, V6 made them natural: there is breathing between phrases, live dynamics inside a line, and clean word endings. Instruments stopped blending into a general wash — bass, drums, keys and guitars are heard separately, and the low end is tight and stable. Song structure became predictable: intro, verses, chorus, bridge and ending line up the way they were described, not "however it turned out".

The second noticeable change is prompt understanding. V6 expanded its vocabulary: subgenre names, specific instruments, moods, tempo and structure tags like [Verse], [Chorus], [Bridge] are read more precisely and less often replaced by something adjacent in meaning. In practice, that means fewer regenerations to "land" the intended sound.

Suno shipped a lineup of three models: V6 is the main one, V6 Wild is for bolder, less predictable experiments, and V6 Mini is fast and lightweight. On Genosai we connected the main one — Suno V6 — and made it the default model in the audio studio and in agents. One run returns two track variants and costs 16 credits; track length runs from 10 seconds to 6 minutes.

Capabilities

Suno V6 is music generation from a description or from your own lyrics, with or without vocals. Here is what the model does in practice.

Vocals like a live recording

V6's main achievement is that vocals stopped sounding "synthetically flat". The model adds breathing, changes volume and push inside a phrase, closes word endings cleanly, can whisper and hold notes. The voice gender is your choice — male or female — and the character of the delivery is set with words in the style description: "raspy", "gentle", "powerful chorus".

Arrangement with details

V6 builds a track like a producer: it has an intro, development, climax and ending. Instruments are distinguishable, parts do not step on each other, and the low frequencies do not hum. If you list instruments in the style description — "acoustic guitar, double bass, light percussion" — the model will actually assemble the track from them rather than from an averaged "pop sound".

Length control

In custom mode there is a duration parameter from 10 seconds to 6 minutes in 5-second steps. It is handy when music is needed for a specific runtime: a 15-second podcast jingle, a 30-second bed for a reel, or a full three-minute song. Leave it on Auto and Suno picks a natural length for the lyrics.

About 50 languages

Suno sings in about 50 languages. The model reads Cyrillic, Latin and other scripts natively, keeps stress in most words and holds vowels confidently in choruses. For the best result, write lyrics clearly, without abbreviations and rare acronyms.

Examples

There is no Suno V6 demo gallery on Genosai yet, so here are the typical scenarios where the model shines. The first is a song as a gift: you paste your own lyrics with names and details, set the genre to "warm pop ballad, female vocals, piano" and get two variants of a finished song, choosing the one that hits the mood more precisely.

The second scenario is music for a video. Turn on Instrumental, set the duration exactly to the video's runtime — say, 45 seconds — and describe the style: "energetic synthwave, retro drums, bright synths, no vocals". The track ends together with the video, nothing to trim. The third is a jingle for a podcast or channel: 10–15 seconds, a recognizable motif, a short slogan phrase in the chorus. The fourth is a song with your own structure: verse, chorus, verse, bridge, chorus marked with tags — V6 keeps the structure and does not shuffle the parts.

How to use it in Genosai

  1. Sign in to Genosai and open the audio studio.
  2. Make sure Suno V6 is selected — it is first in the model list.
  3. In simple mode, describe the song in one or two sentences: genre, mood, theme. The model writes the lyrics itself.
  4. For full control, turn on custom mode: paste your lyrics with [Verse] and [Chorus] tags, set the style and title, pick the voice gender and duration.
  5. If you do not need vocals, turn on Instrumental.
  6. Start the generation — two track variants arrive in a minute or two. Download the best one, or refine the description and generate again.

Genosai runs in the browser and needs no installation. Credits are charged per run — 16 per generation — so it is convenient to collect several variants and pick the best. Suno V6 is also available in Genosai agents ("Song as a Gift", "Podcast Studio", "Video Director") and in the public API under the name suno-v6.

Prompts

The ready-made phrasings below show how to brief Suno V6 to get the genre and vocals you want. Copy any prompt and substitute your theme.

Indie pop, female vocals, warm summer mood, theme — the road to the sea, catchy chorus, medium tempo.
Classic rock, raspy male vocals, theme — friendship and the years, electric guitars, live drums, powerful chorus.
Piano ballad, female vocals, piano and strings, theme — gratitude to my mother, slow tempo.
Hip-hop, male vocals, confident delivery, theme — my own path, heavy bass, minimal beat.
Instrumental, no vocals, lo-fi hip-hop, calm background for work, soft keys, vinyl crackle, 60 seconds.
Energetic synthwave, no vocals, retro drums, bright arpeggios, 30-second bed for a video.
Children's song, cheerful female vocals, simple memorable melody, ukulele and claps.

Generation cost

On Genosai, one Suno V6 generation costs a fixed 16 credits and returns two track variants. The price does not depend on length, genre or vocals — a six-minute song costs the same as a ten-second jingle. You pay per generation, with no monthly subscription, so spending is easy to plan: ten generations are 160 credits and twenty finished tracks.

The price is the same as the previous main model, Suno V5.5 — with noticeably better sound. Starter credits after sign-up let you try Suno V6 for free. Current packages and balance are in the Pricing section.

Comparison

Suno V6 is the default choice for any music task: it sings more naturally and follows the description more precisely at the same price as its predecessors. The older Suno V5.5 and Suno V5 remain in the model list for comparison, but Suno has stopped developing them, and new tracks are better made on V6. For narrating text with a voice rather than making music, there is Gemini 3.1 Flash TTS.

ModelWhat it doesPrice on Genosai
Suno V6Music with natural vocals, 10 s — 6 min16 credits per 2 tracks
Suno V5.5Previous main model, even vocals16 credits per 2 tracks
Suno V5Two noticeably different takes per prompt16 credits per 2 tracks
Gemini 3.1 Flash TTSText-to-speech, not music1.5 credits per 100 characters

The choice is simple. Need a song or a music bed — take V6. Need a narrator to read text without music — that is a TTS task, not Suno. And if you have tracks made on V5 or V5.5, they stay in your history and remain available for download.

Limitations and tips

Suno V6 generates music but does not edit finished tracks: the features Suno showed on its own platform — rewriting a single verse, mashups from several songs, audio references — are not yet available on Genosai, where the model works in create-from-scratch mode from a description or your lyrics. If the result is not right, refine the description and generate again: every run gives two new variants.

Practical tips. Duration works only in custom mode — turn it on if length matters. In the style description, name instruments and vocal character specifically: "female vocals, breathy, whispered verses, powerful chorus" gives a more predictable result than "a beautiful song". Write lyrics in full, without abbreviations, and mark the structure with [Verse], [Chorus], [Bridge] tags — V6 keeps the order of parts. For an instrumental under a video, set the exact number of seconds right away — nothing will need trimming. And if the task is narration, choose Gemini 3.1 Flash TTS: it is a separate tool for voice, not music.
